It’s Not as Good as You Think

A common problem with relying on one landing page, or one design, is that they are most likely not as good as you think. It may be good really, but the odds say there is a better performing layout just waiting to be used. I have been using this method for a while now, and my last landing page campaign, didn’t fail to surprise me. I made five different layouts. Three of them I thought were slam dunks, and the other two I just kind of rushed out with not much care. Right now those two sloppy pages are the ones cranking the sales. Who figured? Now I am working on converting the high quality ones to incorporate the better performing ones. Hopefully those will outshine the current best.

Using parallel designs and parallel layouts is nothing new, and it is a very effective method of building a campaign. In fact, I would say you are not ready to begin a campaign until you have multiple layouts. For those of you that frequent the Digital Point forum, this has been a bummer day so far. The server has been down for over twelve hours now. Hopefully it will be corrected soon with data intact. Google was nice enough to make a cache right before it stopped working. The cache shows a posts from about 6:30pm Pacific Time yesterday, and I noticed DP ws down around 7pm. Screenshot of cache.

Here is another SEO site for you, see search engine optimization New York. The site is owned by Davidz On Online Web Design Studio. Davidz On Online Web Design Studio, or what I will now call Doowds (dudes?), is a group of New York web designers. I wonder if they really are just a group of dudes? Doowds specialize in web design and flash, but additionally offer seo services to get your site seen.

Doowds has a ton of of clients, and a huge portfolio to show off their work. Having a web development company that also specializes in SEO can be a great combination. Optimizing a site should begin day one. Another unique feature about them is that they actually offer a hosting service as well. I personally refer my clients to a hosting company. I don’t want to be a IT tech support guy for when a customers email doesn’t work. Leave that stuff for the hosting company. Apparently though, they have the support, the service, and looking at the plans a competitive rate. Plans were basically based on storage,  and not traffic. Hats off to them, I wish that was my office.

Current Issues and Things I Want

Version 1.09 isn’t really the version I wanted to release, but I have been using it for a while myself, and simply put, it’s better than version 1.08. It’s mainly because every time I tweeted before, I always wondered if my tweet was too long. If it’s too long now, it will take you to Twitters Page  with your update in the update box, so it is easy to edit. I also made a few minor changes, and added a couple of menu items.

The next version I plan on releasing will be a much larger improvement. Many of you are begging for more dynamic content. The toolbar needs to read what is going on in your world, and become much more than a fancy submit button. I want it to show number of new replies, messages, and I would really love a scrolling text of live updates. All are possible, but building Firefox add-ons is not my specialty, so please give me time.

All of the plans they have will help optimize your site for keywords, but on the internet today you need a lot more than keyword optimization. Optimizing your site is just the starting point for their packages.

They have a nice side by side comparison, SEO Ontario, and if it were up to me, I would just get the most basic, Pop. By going with the Pop plan you can always request the specific things that the higher up plans  have, making it a little more custom for you.
