Looking to submit your site in a business directory? IBizDir is a directory of business across the globe, and also offers a guide with general tips and tools for small business owners.

The Business Guide

The business guide portion of the site offers advice on several categories, but it seems much of its content is for companies doing business online. There is advice for starting a business, marketing, business finance, and taxes. There is also a great deal of information on how to start a website, where to host it, and other pertinent items.

The Business Directory

The directory is a paid listing. Rates are a one time fee with two options: Regular $39.94, and Featured – $69.91. It’ looks like most are going for the regular listing, and why not. The site is pretty new, so getting seen in your category is still pretty easy. At first appearance, looking at the right sidebar, there is only about 20 categories. Each main category though, has several subcategories totaling to well over 100 categories.

This is a great looking directory, with an added feature compared to most directories, the Business Guide. It even has loan calculators, currency converters, and more. Check it out! I definitely like their cool menu.

Site Promotion

January 8th, 2009

Calling all directory submitters…

Here is another directory, Site Promotion. It’s a Search Engine Submission directory. Basically, it’s  a directory of search engine sumission sites and web marketing sites. After submitting your own site, check out the Web Directory Blog. On the blog they have list of both paid and free directories where you can submit to more.

The site also has a search engine submission page where submit your site to 20 search engines. Many sites like this require you to have a back link to their site so I was happy to see it wasn’t mandatory with this site. If you want to submit to more they also have a paid version that submits to 100 search eninges. Addtionally, the site offers two other services in regards to site marketing. They offer a link building service, and SEO services. The owner of this site has run several SEO competitions in the past, and I know he is more than qualified. Submitting to directories can be a drag, but if you don’t tell anyone about your website how is anyone going to find it?

Business Directory

January 5th, 2009

It seems like my last few posts have been about directory on this blog so I decided to go ahead and do another one. I also decided to create a new category just for them. I figure having a nice list of directories is a tool itself for webmasters on their marketing journey of telling the world.

This directory is a Business Product & Services Directory. It’s called LinksLinky. It has a PR4 rating is light on other submissions (so easy to find your site), and offers paid or free listings. A free listing requires a backlink, here is mine: Web Directory Forum. Obviously easy to do, and each listing has its own unique page description with visitor counter. The featured and regular listings are £15.00. Knowing how few listings there are right now, I think you would be fine with a regular listing if you don’t like to have backlinks on your site.

They also have a blog, Links Linky Blogs, but it’s looking a little quite right now.

DefiniteWeb Directory

January 3rd, 2009

Marketing a website can be a bit of a chore, and submitting to directories is one of them. DefiniteWeb.net is a web directory specializing in sites geared for retail.

If you are one whom does submit to directories, now is the time. This Internet Resources & Directory is still fairly new, and the listings are few and far between. This meaning, your site can still easily get spotted, and is not buried by the mass numbers of other listings. You may submit your link for free if you offer a reciprocal link, but may also pay for a more premier position.

As a visitor to the directory, listings offer a brief description, PR rank display, and additionally offer a more detailed listing with a unique page about the item solely. The top right menu has links to top and new listings

Simple directory, currently in good standings with Gee Men, and easy to submit your site.

Ozami

Liking the logo Mr. Ozami. Ozami.com is another directory site that takes paid submissions. I prefer free directory listings, but having your keywords in a quality directory can always give you a little help in the search rankings. It’s for sure better than just buying text links from a random site.

Ozami is a basic Internet Guide & Directory. Being a paid directory it’s banner ad free, and with exception to the home page apears to really have no paid ads at all. Checking out my site you can guess how I feel about splattering your site with ads. Note to webmasters, you can make money with your website without ads on your site. My experience is that if you want to make money with your site, figure out another way than making a nickel per thousand visitors with stupid ads. You might make a little bit more than a nickel, but really, a thousand visitors and you only made $10? My best site make more than 25 cents a visitor, and add free. It’s not as hard as you think.

Back to Ozami though, they did offer a free way to submit your site. It may take a little longer to get listed, but could be worth the wait. The site also had a blog, Shopping Product Services Blogs, which unfortunately seemed a little off topic for me. The site is well ranked and indexed on  Google, but it gets over 15,000 daily visitors so you should be getting some traffic out of them.
