Since I started this site I have had a few of you ask if I offer SEO services. I do not. I can offer some basic advice, buy my specialty is site usability. My job is to make sure websites work, and work well, not in getting visitors. Having a site that is easy to find on search engines is a usability issue though, so I thought I would mention some SEO companies over the next few weeks.

Most of us know or think that optimizing a site for search engines is all about getting the right number of keywords, or descriptions into our site. It’s our layout, or how the site is outline that makes a site #1. Well it’s not all that, and in fact, most SEO experts would probably say not true. It’s often about backlinks, and how valuable your site appears to others that gets you that premium ranking. So how do you get backlinks? You work, or you pay, it makes no difference.
